Gracie's Info
We are so lucky to have found Gracie at the SPCA
(Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), in Lloydminster,
Alberta, Canada. Since we adopted Gracie, we are unsure of her breed
background, but anyone can tell by her face that she is definitely part
cocker spaniel. When she was rescued by the SPCA she had ran away from her
owner/breeder, and suffered from pneumonia brought on by a cool rainy
summer. When her owner refused to pay the veterinary bills accrued by the
non-profit organization, they put her up for adoption. Not knowing it was
my fiancé's plan to buy me a black cocker spaniel to use as part of his
engagement proposal, I insisted that we rescue this “pound dog” who
melted our hearts. Three days after we adopted her, the SPCA was sadly
shut down due to the fatal parvovirus. We found her just in time and
nursed her to be the fun-loving dog she is today. At 11 months old, she
already shows the great hunting skills of a cocker as she keeps her nose
to the ground sniffing out every different scent. |
