Lucy's Info
Lucy (a beautiful champagne colored female cocker spaniel) was found on
104th and Park in New York, New York in December of 2006. She couldn't
walk and had bruises and abrasions all over her body. She was sent to the
Brooklyn Animal Shelter where she quickly developed kennel cough and was
put on the euthanasia list! Luckily, she was rescued by an amazing woman
in Queens, New York who runs a cocker spaniel shelter. This amazing woman
got her spayed, all her shots and all the medicine she needs. I had been
looking for a dog at the animal shelters when I cam across Lucy's picture
on the Brooklyn Animal Shelter's website . . . it was love at first site
and I just knew she was the dog for me! Lucy is not the easiest dog since
she is already 5 years old and has a rough history. We fondly refer to her
as a "product of the system" and she has the associated
problems! When Lucy first came to live with me she barked at every single
person she saw, and attempted to attack most of them as well . . . not to
mention the frenzy she goes into when she sees other animals. But in the
last 4 months she has completely turned around . . . she can walk nicely
on a leash, she is pleasant to people and she is so loving and adorable!
You should see her when she's sleeping with her tongue out! Adopting Lucy
has changed my life. Even though we still have some work to do, she is the
brightest spot of joy in my life and I can't wait to get home from work
every day (when she can run circles around my feet)! |
