Hoshi’s walk

Hoshi went for a walk yesterday while Cathy was at the doctor’s.  It’s fun for him because we walked someplace new.  There was lots of vegetation for him to explore and run through.  That’s the face of a happy dog.

Hoshi had a bath and trim the day before.  He was panting indoors letting me know his coat was too warm.  He does this in the winter time too.  Just imagine if we lived somewhere hot like Florida or Texas. I trim him myself–not a gorgeous cut but utilitarian.

Bath time for Hoshi

I found a flea on Hoshi last week and decided he needed a flea bath. Hoshi’s in his summer cut. I notice when I blow dry him he has hundreds of little growths/moles all over his back. Two are the size of match head. I’ll keep an eye on them. Hoshi’s hair is so fine I get “splinters” in my hand from grooming him. I have to be careful and use a brush instead of my hand to clean the grooming table. One cocker is plenty when it comes to grooming. My back aches afterwards.

Hoshi had his bath

I think Hoshi went 2 months without a bath. He was scratching and I found a flea on me last night. I gave him a bath with flea shampoo. Found a couple dead/dying ones on him when drying him off. I trimmed his paws and ears on the inside. Didn’t do his face–we were both too tired.

Anyways, he’s comfy and getting some rest now that the fleas are gone.

Another bath and trim

I gave Hoshi his bath. I replaced a light fixture in the basement so I could finally see what I was doing. I also gave Hoshi a flea dip during his bath so I wouldn’t get bitten like last time (No bites! Yay!). I trimmed him down again with a #7 blade. It’s been hot lately. He looks cute in his summer cut. His Booster Bath has been looking gross so I took out the mat and scrubbed it and the bath as well.

Hoshi has been minding me more and more. He doesn’t take off when we are in the front yard. He sits and waits for permission to move. Believe it or not, the other day me and Hoshi saw iguana in someone’s front yard. It was huge (about 3 foot long). It was behind the fence. Hoshi saw it move and was curious about it.

Bath and groom

I gave Hoshi a bath early this morning. He needed one and I contemplated shaving him down because of skin problems. That fungal infection on his back went away then came back because I think it’s in his skirt too. Anyways, I decided too keep some length so I found an old clipper with grooming attachments. I was pleased how the legs came out. Fairly even. I did have some trouble with his front legs because of mats. The attachment would get stuck. I’m going to order some grooming attachments for my Oster.
