Lead testing in Flint, Michigan

This video appears to be a veterinary student drawing blood from the external jugular vein. Her technique is poor. She does check her landmarks to verify needle placement. The alcohol was applied but somewhat randomly. I’m not sure if the needle stick site is the same as the alcohol. She didn’t scrub the site with alcohol either. She had difficulty finding the vein too. She had to “dig” for it: It’s something frowned upon in nursing and painful to the patient.

Personally, I don’t think drawing blood from the external jugular is safe because they could puncture the carotid artery or lung especially when they’re digging around.

Mike Heredia & Otis
Mike Heredia & Otis
Mike Heredia was walking his dogs around 5:00am February 9th when a man got out of a car and grabbed his 15 year-old cocker spaniel named Otis. Heredia tried to pull Otis out of the car but was dragged for a block instead. Heredia eventually fell from the fleeing car sustaining a shoulder dislocation and minor injuries.

Fortunately, Otis was found at the same park he was abducted from. “The people had left him at the dog park. He is now home. Glad he’s back,” said Heredia. Police are searching for the man and woman responsible for the abduction.

Milwaukee man stabs cocker spaniel

Zachary George Senner
Zachary George Senner
Milwaukee man Zachary Senner was charged with felony mistreatment of an animal in the stabbing and bludgeoning of his brother’s and sister-in-law’s cocker spaniel. His brother Elijah Senner and wife asked him to “get rid of the dog” named Brandy. At first Zachary abandoned Brandy in street but she returned to the residence on 2735 S 10th Street. Zachary then stabbed Brandy and ditched the body only to have her return home once again. The Senner family hoped Brandy would bleed to death but she didn’t so Zachary stabbed Brandy multiple times until she died.

Senner remains in the Milwaukee County Jail with bail set at $1,000. If convicted Senner could face 7 1/2-and-a-half years in prison.
