Pixie Pooh

November 22, 1994 - April 28 2007

Pixie was 8 weeks old when we bought her from a breeder in Texas. We are originally from Indiana and she loved our long car rides to visit family back home. Our oldest daughter was 11 and our youngest was 8 when Pixie came home.

Pixie loved to howl when our oldest daughter would play her saxophone. Other than that, I think she barked a total of 20 times in her whole life. We were told when she was young to put balloons on the furniture to keep her off, but she loved to pounce on them and pop them. She also loved to open plastic easter eggs with her mouth. Sometimes we would hide a treat in one of the easter eggs among several. She would always go straight to the egg with the treat. She hated the vacuum and being touched by people's feet.

She wasn't much of a watch dog, because she loved people too much. Pixie was always excited to get visitors. If one of us would ask whose here, she would immediately go back and fourth between the window and the door to see who was coming. She loved to be with people, but didn't care much for other dogs or cats. We took many naps in my recliner when I got home from work and on the weekends.

Pixie had a lot of ear infections over the years which we think affected her immune system. She was being treated for a heart condition. In the end, we weren't sure what she had, but we think it was a severe skin infection or skin cancer. We treated her with many medications, shampoos, and creams, but the infection continued to spread. We finally decided to stop her suffering.

Both our daughters came home for her final day. We talked a lot about the past and we cried a lot in her final hour. Pixie is greatly missed and we thank God for the years we had with her.

Roady Roady

Iam so thankful to be able to put my precious Roady on your list of memorials. Roady came to us in Ausust of 1995. It was a very hot summer day, all of 106 degrees. Roady was only a 3 month old puppy roaming the hot streets, with cars all around him, and along came my husband, and rescued him out of the street,as he almost was hit by a car. When I came home, after being away for the weekend, and there he was. This beautiful little 3 month old blond cocker spaniel, with a tail. We, me, my husband, and my son, all fell in love with him. He was such a people dog, and just loved everyone he saw, he loved every dog, cat and any walking creature. He was so full of love. He had probably the cutest little ways of any dog I ever owned, and all he did was wag his beautiful tail. He was my precious little baby boy. In november of 2005, our sweet Roady, took ill. We brought him to the Drs, only to be told the worst possible news ever. We were told that Roady had only a few weeks, left, as he , we were told, has cancer of the liver, the pancreas , and the spleen. He basically had cancer, that spread thru his whole body. I thought someone shot me , when we were given the horrible news, right before the holidays. Roady managed to make thru Christmas, and I saw his sweet little body fading away, so I made him as comfortable as possible, and I might add, we did everything, to save our little boy, numerous trips for treatments, ultra sounds, body fluids, and medicines, as well as diet, vitamins, and pain medicine, to keep him comfortable to the end. Then we finally made the fatal decision, it was time to let him go, as we no longer wanted him to suffer. We said our goodbye to Roady on January 4th, 2006. We miss him so very very much. There is not a day that goes by, that I miss him, and look at his ashes and his last pictures, and I cry all over again. I miss him, as my husband and I both do. We have grieved so very much for him. Our home will never be the same with out our dear and devoted companion. We have had many dogs, and still do, but not one could or have ever had the devotion and love that he did. Iam attaching a photo of our dear Roady. Thank You for this site, as it is so wonderful to be able to express the feelings and emotions, that we had for our beloved Roady.
